6 Health IT Resources You Should Know About

These sites offer information on topics like health information exchanges and electronic health records.

With numerous efforts under way by states and local governments to implement the health reform requirements of 2010’s Affordable Care Act, it can be hard to keep up with all the changes.

Thanks to a new databaselaunched by the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), those interested in health reform legislation now have a one-stop shop to keep track of it all.

The database includes topics, such as health information technology, health insurance reform, health insurance exchanges, Medicaid and prevention and wellness..

“States are at different starting places to implement health reform; the roughly 600 bills included in the database vary so far, depending on the state,” said Martha Saenz, a health policy analyst at NCSL, in a statement on the organization’s website. “Introduced bills deal primarily with some of the state flexibility, such as establishing health insurance exchanges.”
